About Diane
My own personal and professional journey enables me to connect with those experiencing transitions after 50. Like many of my clients, I enjoyed getting back to work after several years as a mom of two daughters and community volunteer. In my varied careers I coordinated programs and raised funds for non-profit organizations, trained clients and wrote documentation for software firms, and designed training programs for banks.
Over the past 12 years, I’ve coached thousands of clients making transitions in their professional lives. My career in this field began in 1999, after my second banking lay-off as an instructional designer. I accepted a position at a One-Stop Career Center, helping others find careers that suit them. Since then I’ve consulted with individuals and facilitated business and career related groups.
After a few years, I decided to take my services to a deeper level by assisting clients in planning their personal, as well as their professional lives. For the past four years, I’ve worked with clients over 50 who are following their hearts and seeking an entirely new focus in their lives. Their professional experience covers a wide range of industries, from education to technology.
I returned to school and earned a Masters in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University, through its distance learning program. Earning my degree has enriched my professional life, leading to experience at Lee Hecht Harrison, Women at Work, and Pierce College. I’m an active member of the National Career Development Association, and served as Program Co-Chair for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) 2008.
My passion comes from my personal experience of finding my own new calling after 50. Although I’d made a few career changes over the years, this one is more profound. I’ve been able to earn a living using my natural ability to help others find greater meaning in their lives and work. I had always asked people casually, “What did you used to do? What would you like to do?” In the process, I found what I really like to do.
Today I look forward to each day of my life and work, which is what I want for you.
